The Journal of Health Research and Society (JHRS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access research journal published by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, Extension, and Innovation, Mindanao State University–General Santos. Published semi-annually since 2026, the journal publishes high-quality interdisciplinary research addressing the biological, social, environmental, and policy dimensions of health.

JHRS welcomes contributions in public health and epidemiology, health systems, policy, and governance, social determinants of health, and translational biomedical sciences and health innovation. Through the dissemination of rigorous and impactful scholarship, the journal aims to advance scientific knowledge, inform evidence-based decision-making, foster health innovation, and improve population health and societal well-being.

 

AIMS AND SCOPE

 The Journal of Health Research and Society (JHRS) publishes original research articles, review papers, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, policy analyses, short communications, case studies, and scholarly perspectives that advance health, healthcare, and societal well-being.

Interdisciplinary Research

JHRS recognizes that health outcomes are influenced by complex interactions among biological, social, environmental, economic, educational, and institutional factors. The journal therefore welcomes interdisciplinary research from fields such as education, agriculture, environmental science, business, social sciences, and the humanities, provided that the work demonstrates a clear and substantive contribution to health, healthcare, public health, or societal well-being.

Submissions that do not establish a meaningful connection to health or health-related societal outcomes are generally outside the journal's scope.
