Content and Usage Rights
The Journal of Health Research and Society (JHRS), as an open-access journal, allows users to freely access all published content. Full-text articles can be read, downloaded, distributed, printed, searched, or reused without asking prior permission from the publisher or author with the condition that the original publication is properly cited and referenced.
Access
JHRS is an open access journal, meaning all of its contents are available free of charge for all users. Users can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search and link the complete contents, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without requirement to seek permission from their authors but with the condition that the original publication is properly attributed to. This policy is in line with the Budapest Open Access Initiative.
Copyright
Authors retain the copyright of their articles published in the JHRS. They grant the journal the right of first publication and authorize the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, Extension, and Innovation (OVCREI) of Mindanao State University – General Santos to be identified as the original publisher. Authors may also deposit and share the final accepted version of their articles in third-party repositories after official publication, provided that they link it back to the specific journal page to ensure accessibility.
License
Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) is the selected license of the JHRS. This open access license allows users to share, copy, distribute, transmit, and adapt content of the journal provided proper attribution is given to the original authors and the journal. Users must also include a link to the license and indicate if any changes were made to the original content. Authors likewise grant any third party the right to use or reuse the content published in the journal, as long as the original authors and journal are properly credited and identified.
Archiving
It is the commitment of JHRS to the aim for the preservation and accessibility of its scholarly content. Thus, JHRS implements the following rigorous measures:
- Routine creation of backup copies
- Constant website upkeep and updates
- Utilization of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for article permanence
- Hosting on Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform for enhanced management and security
Moreover, JHRS will collaborate with leading digital preservation networks, LOCKSS and CLOCKSS, to store and distribute content through participating libraries.
